Google Pixel phones might soon receive theme packs for personalizing the user interface.

Google is rumored to be introducing native theme packs to its pixel smartphones as part of the upcoming android 16 update. According to a report from android authority, the latest android 16 beta showcases evidence of a new ‘pixel themes’ feature that is currently in development.

Currently, most android smartphone brands allow users to apply pre-made themes, which can usually be found in their respective app stores. However, pixel phones only offer limited personalisation options, requiring users to manually adjust individual settings. It is possible that this may soon change, as Google is currently developing comprehensive themes that integrate various user interface components into a single cohesive design.

Google Pixel Theme Packs: An Overview The latest update for the android 16 qpr1 beta 1 device introduces an improved version of the ‘wallpaper and style’ app, and hints at the upcoming release of a new ‘themes’ option. The new section is anticipated to be positioned at the top of both the lock screen and home screen tabs, labeled as ‘discover pixel themes.’.

The report suggests that each theme pack will likely consist of a mix of icon styles, animation effects, wallpapers, and other visual enhancements. The exact number of themes and the extent of customization for the user interface (ui) are still uncertain at this time. Additionally, users may have the opportunity to customize or create their own themes, allowing for a more personalized experience.

The enhanced app now features a more streamlined design, a new slider to customize the lock screen clock size, and the ability to use magic portrait wallpapers.
